Richard Owen LeMay, age 54, of McKinney, Texas passed away August 7, 2011. He was born January 24, 1957 in Santa Barbara, California to Howard LeMay and Virginia (Dahl) LeMay. Richard grew up in Santa Barbara, California, where he graduated from Santa Barbara High School. He moved to Texas in 1979 and worked in construction for Wayne Reed, before starting his retail career at Tom Thumb. Over the next 26 years his dedication and loyalty as a store manager for Tom Thumb and Fiesta was recognized and respected by everyone who had the opportunity to know and work for him.
Richard married his best friend Charlotte Jean Pence on April 28, 2007. Next to Richard’s family and friends, his passion was NASCAR.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte LeMay of McKinney, Texas; children, Robert LeMay and wife Tabby of Maurice, Louisiana, Michelle LeMay of McKinney, Texas, Amber LeMay of McKinney, Texas, Morgan Perez and husband, Donny of Little Elm, Texas, Carrie Waldrip and husband, Allen of Plano, Texas and Ethan Pence of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Elizabeth LeMay, Robert LeMay, Jr., Alexis Perez, Jaidan Perez and Mateo Perez; parents, Howard and Virginia LeMay of Las Vegas, Nevada; sisters, Lori Vay and husband, Rick of Las Vegas, Nevada and Lesa Perez of California, and also many other beloved family members.
He was preceded in death by Michelle and Amber’s mother, Mary Zirkelbach LeMay.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, August 12, 2011, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Rev. William Sterling officiating. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park, Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Thursday beginning at 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Allen, Texas.
The family suggests that Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in Richard’s memory.
