Richard Layton Brown, 70 , of McKinney, Texas passed away on July 27, 2024, at his home.

Rick was born September 5, 1953, in Rockwall, Texas to Elizabeth Ann and Evertte Layton Brown. He graduated from South Garland High School in Garland, Texas in 1971. Rick attended ITT Tech which led to a long, successful career at Texas Instruments in Dallas. He was employed as a Quality Control Technician in the Semiconductor Division.

Rick had the fantastic opportunity to see the world by touring with David Bowie as a crew member in the 1980’s. He would send gifts home to his young niece from all the countries he visited..

In 2001, he married Michelle (Zea) Brown. Rick and Shelly enjoyed many hours together cooking and planning trips.

Rick is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Shirley Craft. He is survived by his wife, Shelly, and his stepdaughter, Kenna Carr; his sister, Sharon Turner and husband, David, and numerous nieces and nephews.

An inurnment will take place December 14, 2024, at 3:00p.m. at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. The family requests donations to St. Jude Hospital in lieu of flowers.
