Richard E. Brown

Richard E. Brown 82, of McKinney Texas passed away August 30, 2016. He was born to Wava and Gladys Brown in Ohio on April 25, 1934.  Richard is survived by his lovely wife Edna Ryan Brown.  They were married 57 years ago on August 22, 1959 in Chester PA.

His son David and wife, Leah, daughter Natalee and husband, Brine, carry on his loving and caring nature, along with his 2 granddaughters Coree and Tracee, plus grandson Taylor and wife, Hannah.

Richard enjoyed the sport of sailing as a life time member of the Dallas Corinthian Yacht Club.  He was a WW II history buff.  He graduated from Georgia Military Academy, Atlanta (Woodland Academy), served in the United States Coast Guard, based in Cape May NJ and attended Auburn University.

Richard and Edna raised their 2 children and were owner/operators of Brown’s RentIt/Shiloh Equipment Company, in Richardson Texas.  He was a former President of the Texas Rental Association.

Richard was a long time member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, and was well known as the “Coffee Guy”.  He was also a member of the McKinney Rotary Club for over 28 years, plus a C-Cart, Meals on Wheel Driver.  The McKinney Police Association, Citizen on Patrol and Chestnut Square of McKinney also benefited from Richard’s involvement.

He is survived by brother John G. Brown and wife Patti, nieces Ashlee Kring and Suzy Brown DeShields: nephews Ian Brown and Steven Ryan.  He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Thomas F. Brown.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00pm on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in McKinney TX.  Inurnment service will follow at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church Columbarium.
