IN LOVING MEMORY

Richard Darcé Ledet

Mar 27 1941 - Oct 27 2026

Richard Darcé Ledet, 85, of Lafayette, Louisiana, passed away peacefully on October 27, 2026.

The youngest of three children, Richard was born and raised in Abbeville, Louisiana. In 1964, he married the love of his life, Annette, with whom he raised four children. Richard earned his Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Southwestern Louisiana (USL), now the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (ULL). He went on to earn a Master of Education degree from Louisiana State University. Affectionately known to many of his students as "Doc Ledet," Richard dedicated nearly five decades of his life to education. Throughout his distinguished teaching career, he shared his passion for physics with students at several institutions, including the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Lafayette High School, and South Louisiana Community College.

Richard eventually answered a calling to full-time ministry, serving as pastor of Church of Faith for approximately ten years. He also earned theological doctorates in Theology (DTh), Divinity (DDiv), and Ministry (DMin). His passion for teaching and sharing his faith led him to establish the College of Revival Bible College, where he continued his lifelong commitment to educating and inspiring others.

A man of integrity and dedication, Richard loved life, loved Jesus, and loved people. His passion for teaching extended far beyond the classroom, and his faith was central to the way he lived and cared for others. Known affectionately to his family as "Pop" or "Popsie," Richard delighted in entertaining those he loved by playing the piano.

Richard is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Annette Simon Ledet; and their four children: Simone Ledet of Fort Collins, Colorado; David Ledet and his wife, Tammy, of Allen, Texas; Jude Ledet and his wife, Stacy, of Garland, Texas; and Sarah Stocking and her husband, Adam, of McKinney, Texas.

He is also survived by his grandchildren: Lauren Shea, Rebekah Ledet Alderdice, Joah Perrodin, Ryan Ledet, Madison Ledet, Jordan Perrodin, Monique Perrodin Montgomery, Tanner Ledet, Nathan Perrodin, Caitlin Ledet Heinz, Myles Ledet, Jack Stocking, and Savannah Stocking; and his great-grandchildren: Parker Perrodin, Gia Luquette, Crosby Alderdice, Bek Perrodin, Landon Perrodin, Nash Alderdice, Emmett Ledet, and Edmund Ledet; and a host of other loving family and friends.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Clerphe "Jack" Ledet and Norma Provost of Abbeville, Louisiana; his brother, David Ledet; and his sister, Norma Ledet Tindel.

A funeral service celebrating Richard's life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 1, 2026, at Turrentine-Jackson Morrow-Funeral Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013, with visitation beginning at 1:30 p.m. A reception will follow the service.
