IN LOVING MEMORY

Rhonda Rae Patty

Mar 14 1954 - Feb 10 2023

Rhonda Rae Patty, 68, of Leonard, TX was received into heaven on Friday, February 10, 2023 to be joyfully reunited with her soulmate and husband, Russell Patty. We celebrate as their journey of over 35 years will continue at the side of their beloved Jesus.

Rhonda's life began on March 14, 1954 to Ted Richardson and Chloe Saldivar in Norman, OK. From a young age, she started her life of servitude, supporting the care of her brother, Ted (bubba!). Whether it was changing diapers or walking him to TG&Y to buy him a toy with her own allowance, she was always there. At Norman Highschool, Rhonda played the flute and participated in the 1971 OU-Iowa game marching band half-time ceremonies, where OU won. After graduating high school in 1972, Rhonda began working at Otis Elevator Company as an administrative assistant in Dallas, TX where she remained for almost 15 years. It is at Otis where Rhonda met the love of her life and married Russell on October 20, 1984. Rhonda's career continued for over 40 years, until she retired from Raytheon in 2014 to settle into a peaceful, yet busy life.

Rhonda was co-founder of First United Methodist Church's KeenAgers group that regularly meets to play Mexican Train, where she and Russell formed such special friendships. Fellowship with the canasta crew was another of her favorite past times, as well as Trenton Game Days.  Game days would often extend far beyond the scheduled few hours because the groups are such a delight and brought Rhonda so much joy and comfort.  Rhonda was the lead in compiling a charming cookbook for her church, Heavenly Delights.

Rhonda is remembered for her cheerful disposition; always smiling, and ready to give the warmest hugs. She had a deep faith and adored her church family. Rhonda relished in being surrounded by the many beautiful plants, birds, squirrels, and other critters in their backyard. Always with her treasured pets by her side and keeping a watchful eye on the escape artists, Skidder and Ziggy. Rhonda's sweet soul, contagious laughter, and servitude touched so many lives. If you knew her, you are blessed.

Rhonda is survived by stepson John Patty and daughter-in-law Kristi; grandson Dalton Patty; brother Ted Saldivar and sister-in-Law Dee; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; countless friends; and her darling pets Mika, Max, Skidder, and Ziggy, who have all been adopted into loving homes.

She is preceded in death by husband Russell Patty; parents Ted Richardson and Chloe Saldivar; sisters Linda Harrison and Teddi Davenport, Mama Gilmore; and sweet dog Shawnee whose remains will be buried with her.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am, Wednesday, February 15 at First United Methodist Church, 206 N Main St, Leonard, TX 75452 to celebrate Rhonda's beautiful life. A family gathering will be held at the church after the graveside committal service.
