             Rex Crosswhite, age 82, of Celina, Texas passed away on March 25, 2009 in Celina.  He was born on April 11, 1926 in Weston, Texas to Ira and Abbie (George) Crosswhite.   Rex was a beloved father, grandfather, husband, son, friend and neighbor.  A lifelong farmer and rancher in the North Texas area, Rex had a natural gift for nurturing cattle and the auction.  His passion was always the land, however he began his career in the United States Navy where he served his country during World War II, returning home a veteran.  Rex then joined Southwestern Bell where he worked until his retirement after 35 years of service.  He was a Master Mason of the Masonic Lodge.  Rex will be remembered as a true friend and gentleman.   
He is survived by his only son, Lloyd Rex Crosswhite and  wife, Mary of Arlington, Texas; grandchildren, Alicia Crosswhite of Arlington, Texas and Sean P. Sweeney and his wife, Justine of Frisco, Texas; great granddaughter,  Emma Sweeney;  five nephews, 1 niece and a loving extended family.  
He is preceded in death by his parents, Abbie and Ira Crosswhite of Celina, Texas;brother, Lloyd Glen Crosswhite; sister, Wanda Crosswhite Leach and his beloved wife, Ruby Jeffus Crosswhite.  
 The family will receive friends at a Visitation on Thursday, March 26, 2009 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Celina from 6-8PM.  Funeral Services will be held at 3:00PM on Friday, March 27, 2009   at the First United Methodist Church, 112 N. Colorado Street in Celina, Texas with Pastor Jodi Smith officiating.   Interment will follow at Cottage Hill Cemetery in Celina.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association P.O. Box 841125 Dallas, TX 75284.
