Rev. James R. Caldwell, age 91, of McKinney, Texas passed away Friday, March 9, 2007 in McKinney, Texas. He was born March 4, 1916 in Pike, Texas to James Randolf and Nicie (Lee) Caldwell. On June 19, 1936, James married Laveta Agnus. Rev. J.R. Caldwell was an ordained minister of the Assembly of God Church, homebuilder and, served in the US Navy, Fireman, Second Class. He built The First Assembly of God Church which is now called Impact Assembly where he was Minister for 11 years. He is survived by his son, James Caldwell and his wife Patsy of Whitewright, Texas; daughters, Elizabeth McFadden and her husband John of McKinney, Texas, Leta Murley and her husband James of Princeton, Texas, and Shirley Delamar and her husband Bill of Whitewright, Texas; 9 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 1 great great-grandchild; brothers, J.M. Caldwell and Troy Caldwell; sisters, Jimmie Lee Brooks and Wanda Lou Akin; and numerous other loving relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM, Monday, March 12, 2007 in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel, Allen, Texas with Derwood Derbose, Rev. Darrel Sanderland, Pastor of Impact Assembly, Pastor Tracy Jantz and Rev. Irby McKnight officiating. Rev. J.M. Caldwell (brother) reading of the obituary. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. Family and friends are invited to the funeral home at their convenience on Sunday to pay their respects and to sign the register book. The family will receive friends during a visitation at the funeral home on Sunday evening beginning at 6:00 PM.
