Renee Martinez, passed away on December 4, 2021 in McKinney, Texas at the age of 61. He was born on February 4, 1960 to Andres and Elva (Duarte) Martinez in the Bronx, New York. He met his wife Grace in Brownsville, Texas in 1984. They were married on September 1, 1986 in Brownsville, Texas but held another ceremony in the Philippines on June 27, 1987. They would later to move to Plano in 1988. Renee was a beloved respiratory therapist of 38 years- he was loved by his patients as well as adored by his peers at the hospital. Renee was a 2nd degree black belt in Kenpo Karate and an honorary black belt in Taekwondo. He loved sports and instructed Kenpo as well as coached youth baseball. He loved his Longhorns and enjoyed fishing, hunting, cooking, and spending time with his family in his spare time. He was so proud of his Puerto Rican heritage but also embraced the culture of the Philippines as his own. Renee knew where to find the best restaurants in the area and loved to share that love of food and culture with others.

He was known as the class clown growing up always chatting and making people laugh. He was a free spirit and could talk to anyone plus enjoyed getting to know people. He spent his career saving lives and he will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all that were blessed to have met him.

Renee is survived by his wife, Grace Martinez of Plano, Texas; son, Tristan Martinez and wife, Maxine of McKinney, Texas; son, Cameron Martinez of Plano, Texas; daughter, Bianca Martinez of Plano, Texas; mother, Elva Martinez; sister, Elva I. Vasquez; brother, Ed Martinez; sister, Arlene Villareal and husband, Tony; nephew, Anthony Villareal and wife, Lynette; niece, Arlene Lizette Vasquez; nephew, Jason Vasquez, and a host of other loving family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Andres Martinez.

A rosary will be held Friday, December 10, 2021 in the evening beginning at 6:30 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas, followed by a visitation from 7:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, December 11, 2021 at St. Michael Catholic Church in McKinney, Texas.
