IN LOVING MEMORY

Rena Dorothy Copus

Jun 05 1927 - Dec 15 2011

Rena Dorothy Copus was born on June 5, 1927 and went to her Lord on December 15, 2011. Dorothy will find her Mother and Father, James and Effie Taylor, her Husband, James "Jim" Copus, her Brother, J.E. Taylor, and her Sisters, Benena and Marlene waiting for her in Heaven. She is survived by her Sister, Mary Ellen Estes, and a host of nephews, nieces, and friends who will miss her greatly. Dorothy and Jim were married in Dallas, TX. They moved shortly after their marriage to California where they lived for many years. Dorothy and Jim loved to camp and to visit Las Vegas, and both activities gave them lots of great memories together. After their retirement, Dorothy and Jim moved to Sherman, TX, where they soon became part of a community of dear friends. Dorothy was a very active member of the Friendship United Methodist Church for many years, establishing lifelong friendships. Moving to Moore, OK, after the passing of her Husband, Jim, in 2006, Dorothy joined the First United Methodist Church of Moore. As usual, Dorothy made many friends in her new Church home and became very active with her Sunday School class. In 2010 Dorothy moved to Southwest Mansions in Oklahoma City, where she promptly made many friends and became active in the prayer group. Dorothy passed peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, December 15, after a brief illness. Her family and friends know she is in a better place now and will all miss her greatly. The family wishes to thank all those who worked with Dorothy at Meadowlake Estates Nursing Home and also those from Excell Hospice. Both groups have exceptionally caring employees. Services will be held on Monday, December 19, at 2:00 P.M. at Turrentine- Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel 2525 Central Expressway North Allen, TX 75013, with burial to follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, TX
