Reid Elliott Zevenbergen, of Lewisville, Texas, passed away on February 17, 2026, at the age of 41.
Reid was born on August 29, 1984, in Ames, Iowa, to Gary Zevenbergen and Paula Sue Schram. From an early age, Reid demonstrated a strong work ethic and a heart for service that would define his life.
He attended Faith Christian Academy, where he built lifelong friendships and developed the foundation of his character and leadership. Reid went on to attend Texas A&M University earning a Master of Science in Aerospace Engineering. At Texas A&M he was a proud member of the Corps of Cadets, the Fightin Texas Aggie Marching Band, and the prestigious Ross Volunteers. His time at Texas A&M shaped not only his career but also his enduring love for tradition, service, and camaraderie.
Reid built a successful career as an aerospace engineer with Lockheed Martin, where his intelligence, dedication, and integrity earned him the respect of colleagues and peers. He approached his work with excellence and quiet determination, always striving to make a meaningful impact.
Above all else, Reid was devoted to his family. He was deeply involved in his daughters’ lives—supporting their schools, attending activities, and serving as a STEM mentor at his local high school. He loved investing his time and energy into encouraging young minds and inspiring the next generation. His girls were his greatest joy, and he treasured every moment spent with them.
Reid had a generous heart; his spiritual gift was giving. He gave freely of his time, resources, and love. He found great happiness in spoiling his nieces and nephews and in gathering family together. Whether hunting, fishing, or preparing a meal in the kitchen, Reid created moments that brought people closer. He especially loved cooking for those he cared about, turning simple meals into lasting memories.
