Additionally, the family shared the following memorial.

Rebecca was a loving wife and mother. She had a deep love for her husband Jeff and her son Loren. She also loved Loren’s wife Danielle and was enjoying growing closer to Danielle and having a ‘daughter’.

Rebecca had a beautiful smile and enjoyed laughing with others. Rebecca had an incredible memory and kept a wide group of family and friends near to her heart. She loved finding connections with others she met to more quickly build friendships.

Rebecca had strong faith, and lived Christ’s love for others, always ready to bring a meal or other help. Rebecca loved children and enjoyed caring for them, making them laugh and feel loved.

Rebecca was active in Carrollton Church of the Nazarene teaching preschool Children’s Church, helping to plan church dinners, and arranging meals for those in need.  She is currently attending RichardsonChurch of the Nazarene and is in the foyer every Sunday to greet visitors with her smile and help them feel welcome.

Rebecca homeschooled Loren through 8th grade, and was very active in the homeschooling community. She volunteered for several years on the board of PEACH (Plano Education Association for Christian Homeschoolers) organizing seminars for homeschooling parents. She also helped found and served on the board of the teaching co-op N-TECH (North Texas Enrichment Classes for Homeschoolers).

When Loren enrolled in LucasChristianAcademy, Rebecca volunteered wherever help was needed. She began to work for the school and as an employee filled many roles over her 12 years there: Nursery worker, lunchroom monitor, substitute teacher, lunch coordinator, substitute teacher coordinator, stepped in to teach 2nd grade one year and 7th grade history another when a teacher could not complete the semester,  worked in the front office, involved in the new family interviews, organized and scheduled the placement tests for new students, proctored and scheduled the proctors for achievement tests and placement tests, scheduled final exams, taught Microsoft Office, and was currently working as the Academic Coordinator, teaching 7th grade keyboarding and the resident Renweb guru.

Her servant’s heart was evident through the many ways other than her "job" she served LCA. The smell of coffee down the halls was because of Rebecca and every birthday, baby, wedding and funeral was honored because Rebecca saw to it that it was.

Rebecca genuinely cared for the students at LucasChristianAcademy and worked to know them as individuals. She was known for holding students consistently accountable to the rules. Students knew she did this from a heart filled with love for each of them.

Rebecca touched many people throughout her life and will be missed by her family and friends. We take comfort in knowing she loved her Savior and is now living with Him.
