Rebecca K. Barr

Rebecca K. Barr, age 69, of Allen, Texas, passed away on May 20, 2016.  She was born November 3, 1946 in Jamestown, New York to Kermit and Patricia (Morris) Lundell.  She graduated from Jamestown High School in 1964 and later went on to earn her Associates Degree in nursing. In 1986 she became a certified Registered Nurse.

On March 18, 1967, Rebecca married David Barr in Jamestown, New York.  They later moved to Panama, New York where they raised their two children and made many lifelong friends. She held various nursing positions throughout her career with the last 15 as the nurse at Panama Central School, which she loved the most. She and David spent close to 50 years in Panama, before moving to Allen, Texas to be closer to their grandchildren.

Rebecca was a lifelong, faithful servant of the Lord.  She loved working in her flower gardens, going to garage sales and helping others.  She had a wonderful caring spirit and people naturally gravitated to her. Rebecca loved her children and grandchildren dearly.

She is survived by her husband, David Barr of Allen, TX, a son Thomas Barr of Decatur, GA, a daughter Patzianne (Mark) Reynolds of Allen,TX, two grandchildren William and Jack Reynolds of Allen, TX, two step-brothers Tom (Joy) Anderson of Schenectady, NY, Victor ( Hwaok ) Lundell of Rochester, NY, a step-sister Julie (Bill) Patrie of Newburg, PA, three cousins Thomas Jr. (Maureen) Hammond of Hamburg, NY, Christopher Hammond of Racine, WI, Jonathan (Teresa) Hammond of San Marcos, CA, three nephews Jonathan Patrie, Trevor Patrie, Ben Anderson and a niece Tracy Anderson.

Rebecca is preceded in death by her father, Kermit Lundell and wife Mona; mother, Patricia Foy; and son-in-law, Stephen Czarnecki.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, May 31st at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church Allen, 601 S. Greenville Avenue, Allen, Texas, 75002, with a reception immediately following.
