IN LOVING MEMORY

Raymond John "Ray" Robinson

Nov 06 1939 - Dec 29 2018

Raymond John “Ray” Robinson of Princeton, Texas passed away on December 29, 2018 at the age of 79.  He was born in Coventry, England on November 6, 1939 in a bomb shelter during a bombing raid. Ray grew up while England was recovering from the devastation of World War II, making him resourceful and a firm believer that a positive attitude and hard work paid off.  He immigrated to the United States in 1957 on the Queen Elizabeth and found work as a printer’s apprentice.  It was a career he would remain in, eventually retiring from Color Dynamics in Allen, Texas after 26 years as a well-respected Lithographer.  Ray met the love of his life, Mary Jez in 1962, they married on March 6, 1964 in Dallas, Texas and had two children, Lisa and John to whom he was a fun and involved Dad.  Ray was funny and loved to dance and sing and had an amazing voice.  He was the life of the party but also enjoyed playing tennis and golf and spending time with his family as much as possible.  Ray was kind and generous and was quick with a helping hand to those in need.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Mary of Princeton, Texas; son, John Robinson of Princeton, Texas; daughter, Lisa Barringer and husband, Lewis of McKinney Texas; brother, Bill Robinson and wife, Lavena of Princeton, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members and friends.  In addition, two furry family members Rosie and Henry loved him and will miss his ear scratches.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frederick and Charlotte Robinson; brothers, Bernard Robinson, Eric Robinson, Mervyn Robinson, and Alan Robinson; sisters, Doreen Sharpton and Margaret Cole.

A memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home at 2525 Central Expressway North in Allen, Texas.
