Raymond Veit Fischer Jr.

Raymond Veit Fischer Jr. originally of Cleveland, Ohio passed away on November 26, 2018 at the age of 84.  He was born on July 25, 1934 to Raymond Veit and Ernestine (Stuppy) Fischer Sr. in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  Ray grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and served for a short time in the United States Coast Guard.  He graduated from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in Terra Haute, Indiana with a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering.  Ray married Patricia Lou Speranza on April 4, 1959 in Cleveland, Ohio.  He owned his own business, R.V. Fischer and Associates, and worked as a manufacturing representative in the lighting industry.  Ray was a member of the Architects and Engineers Golf League in Cleveland, Ohio.  He enjoyed golf, woodworking and later in life, making wine. Ray was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church in McKinney, Texas.        

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Patty Fischer; children, Marybeth Wuenschel and husband, Mark of McKinney, Texas, Kimberly Healy and husband, James of Houston, Texas, Judi Klausmeyer and husband, Kurt of Pattison, Texas, Christopher Fischer and wife, Kelly of Denton, Texas and Rhea Shoop and husband, Charlie of Tampa, Florida; 13 grandchildren, Faith Wuenschel, Peter Wuenschel, David Wuenschel, Christopher Healy and wife, Katherine, Hanna Healy, Barbara Butera, Michael Fischer, Rachel Fischer, Brooke Fischer, Jacob Shoop, Anna Shoop, Jonathan Shoop and Emme Shoop; great-grandsons, Hayden and Asher; sister, Joan McPoland of Ligonier, Pennsylvania; and a host of other loving family members and friends.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial mass will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, November 30, 2018 at St. Gabriel the Archangel Church, 110 St. Gabriel Way, McKinney, Texas 75071.  Inurnment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
