Raymond “Chuck” Charles Newman of Plano, Texas passed away on May 2, 2020 at the age of 92. He was born November 12, 1927 to Raymond E. and Ina (Shanks) Newman in White Rock, Texas. Chuck grew up in Greenville, Texas where he graduated from high school. He married Clifford Joan Cody on October 15, 1947 in Greenville, Texas. He worked for Safeway stores for forty-one years working his way up to hold a district manager position. Chuck was a long-time member of Custer Road United Methodist Church. He enjoyed collecting nutcrackers and music boxes. In his spare time, Chuck enjoyed target shooting, photography, gardening, HiFi music and most of all spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his children, Diane Calhoun and husband, Kim of Plano, Texas and Kerry Newman and wife, Lisa of Grand Prairie, Texas; grandchildren, Bess Calhoun, Abby Calhoun and John Bunch; great-grandchildren, Ethan Spencer and Austin Spencer; several nieces and nephews and a host of other loving family and friends.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; wife; granddaughter, Terran Spencer; brother, Eish Newman.
