Raymond Piet, 69, of Frisco, Texas, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 4, 2018, at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital in Plano, Texas. He courageously fought cancer determined to further research by participating in multiple clinical trials at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.

Raymond was born on September 1, 1948, in Chicago, Illinois.  He graduated from St. Joseph High School in Westchester, Illinois.   Raymond earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from DePaul University in Chicago where he met his beloved wife of 45 years, Marie (Romanoski) Piet.  Although he enjoyed a successful career in industrial sales, he found joy playing baseball, fishing and exploring the natural beauty of state parks and forests.  Raymond will be remembered as a man of integrity, loyalty, commitment, generosity and humor.  He loved deeply his Lord and Savior and his family, especially his daughter and her children.

He is survived by his loving wife, Marie (Romanoski) Piet of Frisco, Texas; daughter, Christine DeLaTorre of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Catherine “Catie” Rae DeLaTorre and Rocco DeLaTorre; sisters, Sharon Fisher of Warrenville, Illinois and Debra Schaffer of Carol Stream, Illinois; brothers-in-law, Joseph (Michelle) Romanoski of Parmelia, Australia, Michael (Dolly) Romanoski of Washington Township, Michigan; sister-in-law, Patricia Dykhuizen; several aunts, cousins, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m, Saturday, March 10, 2018 at Our Lady of Angels Catholic Church, 1914 Ridgeview Drive, Allen, Texas.  Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday, March 9, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas.
