Raymond Greer of Melissa, Texas, passed away peacefully on February 19, 2025, at the age of 82. He was born on February 23, 1942, in Crab Orchard, Kentucky, to his loving parents, James and Evelyn (Murray) Greer.
Raymond spent his early years in California, attending Selma High School before pursuing higher education in Fresno. His faith was an integral part of his life, and he was a devoted member of The House of Modesto in Modesto, California, for 35 years.
A loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend, Raymond leaves behind a cherished legacy. He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary K. Greer of Melissa, Texas; his children, Raymond Brian Greer (Suzanne) of Oakdale, California, Shelly Greer of Ripon, California, and Kathy Peterson of Ripon, California; his stepdaughters, Sandy Thornton of Klamath Falls, Oregon, and Becky Counts of Allen, Texas. He is also survived by his brothers, Ray Greer of Florida and Bob Greer of North Carolina, as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and a host of loving family and friends.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents.
A graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, March 7, 2025 at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
The family will receive friends during a visitation on Thursday evening from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
