Weldon Raymond “Ray” Feagin, Jr, age 74, passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at his home in Farmersville, Texas. Ray was born April 23, 1946 in McKinney, Texas to W.R. (Sport) and Sara Rike Feagin. He graduated from Farmersville High School in 1965.
Ray married Mary Lynne Cole in Farmersville, Texas on May 17, 1972. He was a member of the First Methodist Church of Farmersville, Texas.
Ray owned and operated Feagin Supermarket from the age of 16 until the store closed in 2014. The Feagins dedicated their lives to serving the community, schools, and citizens of Farmersville. Ray is the last surviving founding member of the Farmersville Centennial, which brought Old Time Saturday to Farmersville in 1979 and helped build the Charles Rike Memorial Library and the O.E. Carlisle Civic Center. The Feagins were strong supporters of the students of Farmersville ISD, many of whom worked at the grocery store, played on sports teams sponsored by Feagins Supermarket, or participated in the Farmersville FFA Chapter.
Ray is survived by his sons Clint Feagin, and wife Amanda of Melissa, Texas; Curt Feagin and wife Amy of Melissa, Texas; one sister, Cathy Feagin of Farmersville, Texas; and his four grandchildren, Aaron, Claire, Rylee, and Cole, all of Melissa, Texas.
Ray was preceded in death by his wife and his parents.
Visitation will take place on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at Hurst’s Fielder Baker Funeral Home in Farmersville.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at the First Baptist Church of Farmersville. Interment will follow in I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Farmersville, Texas. The funeral service will also be streamed online at https://www.fbcfarmersville.com/
