IN LOVING MEMORY

Ray Edward "RayRay" Liddell

Sep 19 1969 - Mar 17 2019

On a cool evening, September 19, 1969 at Nowata General Hospital, a baby boy was born to Velma Ann (Meigs) Alford and Smith Liddell.  They named him Ray Edward Liddell.  Ray spent his youthful days in Nowata and later moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma with his sisters.  After graduating, he worked for Heritage Nursing Home as a diabetic chef before moving to McKinney Texas.  He worked for Walmart Industries in both Texas and Oklahoma.  Ray was a loving and caring son, dad, and brother.  He brought laughter to all who knew him!  On March 17, 2019, as the sunset and the evening grew near, Ray gently closed his eyes.   He was surrounded in prayer by his loving family while Psalms beautifully echoed in his ears and he was surrendered God.

Those left to mourn his passing are his mother, Velma DeSilva and husband, Edward of McKinney, Texas; his sons, D’Angelo Barham and wife, Laurel of Dewey, Oklahoma,  Dre Barham of Nowata, Oklahoma, Gabriel and Gannon Manley of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma,  Davonta  Liddell of Nowata, Oklahoma, Eziah Casey of Bartlesville, Oklahoma;  three brothers, Smith Liddell Jr. and wife, Susie of Hayti, Missouri, Tony Liddell of Nowata, Oklahoma and Darrion Davis of Delaware, Oklahoma; seven sisters,  Angela Jones and husband, Carnell of Hayti, Missouri,  Gloria Liddell of Dyersburg, Tennessee, Sandra Ellington and husband, Jeff,  Jeanette (Liddell) Fuller of Arlington, Texas, Sabrina Britt, Ashton Barbee of Nowata, Oklahoma, Deanne Farlow-DeSilva of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Christina (DeSilva) Dominick and husband, Sloan of Cushing, Oklahoma;  five special, loving and trusted friends, Treva and Isac Saucedo of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, Kevin Mayhew of Nowata, Oklahoma, Carrie Alford  and Harleen Alford of Nowata, Oklahoma; and a host of cousins, family and friends.

Ray was preceded in death by one grandson,  Ekezial Barham; one brother, Damonte Barbee; his father, Smith Liddell; his paternal  grandparents, Ernestine and Vernon Liddell; his maternal  grandparents, Velma (Alford-Chambers), Virdie D. Alford and James P. Meigs.

A graveside service and burial officiated by Rev. Anthony Nash will be held at 11:00 a.m.,  Saturday, March 30, 2019 at Lincoln Memorial Cemetery in Nowata, Oklahoma.

The family request contributions to be made to the Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Nowata, Oklahoma, P. O. Box 147, Nowata, Oklahoma 74048.
