Raul “Rudy” Chavez Gutierrez, age 70, passed away January 9, 2017, at his residence in Parker, Texas.
Rudy was born July 8, 1946, in Midland, Texas, to Sacarias Roman, Sr. and Josephine (Chavez) Gutierrez. He married Margarita Marquez, “Margie” on August 23, 1969, in Midland. Rudy was a Texas Tech University Alum. He proudly served in the United States Air Force. After his discharge, Rudy was a Tennis Pro for the Arlington Racquet Club in Arlington, Texas. He was employed with 3M Automotive Aftermarket Division for thirty-five years. Rudy achieved his status of Account Executive early in his career with 3M and was highly respected by his peers. He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church in Allen, Texas.
Rudy was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed the outdoors. Rudy was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. His dedication to his family and friends was unwavering. Rudy will forever be in our hearts.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sacarias and Josephine Gutierrez; and by his sister, Betty Deande.
Rudy is survived by his wife, Margie Gutierrez of Parker, Texas; sons, Timothy Gutierrez of Dallas and Christopher Gutierrez of Parker; grandsons, Tavyn Gutierrez and Christopher Gutierrez, Jr.; and sisters, Sonia Quiroz and Rosemma Gutierrez , both of Midland, Texas.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, January 20, 2017, at St. Jude Catholic Church in Allen, Texas. A rosary will be held prior to the memorial service at 1:30 p.m. in the chapel.
