It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Randy Scott Dwyer on March 1, 2022. Randy passed away at his home in Allen, Texas at the age of 49. He was born November 21, 1972 in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Canada. Randy was preceded in death by grandparents: Patrick & Rebecca Dwyer and Thomas & Adelaide Lynch all of St. John’s.
Leaving to mourn with precious memories are: Gail, his wife of 19 years, daughter Alexis (Lexi), both of Allen, Texas; loving parents: Randy & Mary (Lynch) Dwyer of St. John’s, Newfoundland; brother: Michael of St. John’s; his beloved dogs Macy, Moose, and Margo; and a large circle of family, friends, and colleagues.
Randy was a graduate of Holy Heart of Mary High School in St. John’s. His love for the ocean led him to study marine biology at Memorial University of Newfoundland where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science. Randy went on to receive his Registered Nurse Diploma at the General Hospital School of Nursing in 1996. Following this, he relocated to Dallas, Texas and began working at Texas Health Dallas Hospital where he met, and fell in love with his future wife, Gail. The two soon married, and built a loving life together in 2003, in Allen, Texas. They welcomed the light of their life, daughter, Lexi, in 2005. Throughout his career, Randy was a dedicated RN who contributed in many aspects of the medical field, most recently, working on the front-lines during the recent COVID-19 Pandemic.
Randy played many sports while growing up in Canada. He was also a scuba diver and enjoyed snorkeling. In his spare time, Randy still enjoyed playing and watching hockey. He and his father were devoted fans of the Montreal Canadiens. They also shared a love of fast sports cars. Randy loved to travel: either to support and cheer on his daughter’s lacrosse team, or to relax on the beach with his wife. The ocean was always Randy’s happy place.
