Randy” Joe” Saucier of Princeton, Texas passed away October 28, 2017, at the age of 67 after a lengthy illness. He was born February 20, 1950, to Lester Saucier and Frances (Hilman) Saucier in Amarillo, Texas. Joe graduated from Waco Connally High School in 1967. He then went to Stephen F. Austin University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1973. He then obtained his Masters from East Texas State University in 1982. Joe married Cynthia Scott on February 24, 1978, in Wolfe City, Texas. He coached at Waco La Vega, Texas for one year, Johnson City, Texas for two years, Wolfe City, Texas for two years, then for Princeton, Texas for twenty-seven years. Joe was a born teacher and loved coaching and teaching American History. He traveled with his students on Texas and American History trips for many years. Joe made an impact on so many students’ lives in his 32 years as an educator. He loved students! After retirement, Joe officiated football games in Collin County. He enjoyed collecting football and baseball cards and visiting historical sites. Joe’s favorite love was traveling on Texas and American History trips with his students. To quote a student, “Coach was a Princeton Institution." He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Wolfe City.
Joe is survived by his wife, Cindy Saucier of Princeton, Texas; sons, Jack Saucier and wife, Alyssa of Frisco, Texas and Jacob Saucier and wife, Lillian of McKinney, Texas; brothers, James Saucier and wife, Dana of Llano, Texas, David Saucier and wife Nan of Winnsboro, Texas, and Warren Saucier and wife, Amanda of Haughton, Louisiana; and many other loving family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 2, 2017 at the Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City, Texas with Pastor Chad Lee officiating. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Wednesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas.
