Ramona Carol (Cantos) Charney, 82, of Plano, TX, passed away on September 18, 2022, at Medical City Heart Hospital in Dallas,TX. Born August 6, 1940, in McComas, WV, she was the daughter of Everett Cantos and Maxine Wellman Cantos.

Ramona was a member of McComas High School class of 1958. Shortly after graduating she married the love of her life, Andrew Charney, and they began a 41 year journey full of loving memories starting in Princeton, WV and ending in Plano, TX.

Ramona had an illustrious career in the financial industry specializing in retail banking and consumer lending.

She cherished spending time with family, preparing unforgettable holiday meals, traveling and socializing with her friends at their favorite hangout; Sugar and Spice Bakery. Ramona took immense pride in her home which was reflected in her ongoing home improvement projects. She had an enviable ability to always look like she just walked off the pages of a fashion magazine. Because of her sincere, kind, and warm nature she always made you feel like you were an old friend, no one was a stranger to her. She was an example we all aspire to be as a sister, spouse, mother, grandmother, and friend. We will all miss the sound of her laughter.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Andrew Charney; sister, Carmon Lou Cantos; and brother-in-law, Larry Charney.

She is survived by her son, Joe Charney (Maria) of Grand Prairie, TX; grandson, Eric (Mariam) and their children, Zayn and Armani; grandson, Bryan (Fontaine), and their child Duncan; sisters, Jane Cantos of Swannanoa, NC and Mary Baker (Charles), of Swannanoa NC; brother, Everett Cantos, Jr (Kathy) of Asheville, NC; brother-in-law, Dennis Charney (Diane) of Lexington, KY; numerous loving family and friends, as well as her beloved dog, Tango.

Rosary services and Visitation will be held on Thursday evening September 29, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 30, 2022, at St. Elizabeth Faith Formation Chapel, 3100 West Spring Creek Parkway, Plano, Texas. Burial services will be held at 1 p.m. at Ridgeview Memorial Park, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas. A reception will follow the Burial services.

Memorial contributions can be made in Ramona's honor to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
