Ramon Enrique Ramos, age 59, of Duncanville, Texas passed away March 6, 2008 in Dallas, Texas. He was born June 1, 1948 in Caquas, Puerto Rico. Ramon proudly served in the United States Army and was a veteran of Vietnam where he received two Overseas Bars, Combat Infantryman Badge, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with two bronze stars, Army Commendation Medal (1st Oak Leaf Cluster) and the Bronze Star Medal (1st Oak Leaf Cluster). He earned his Bachelors of Engineering Degree from Texas A & M University and retired as a foreman over the Lancaster, Texas Street Department. Raymon also worked for the City of New York for over 20 years and was of the Catholic faith. He is survived by his son, Eric Ramos of Arlington, Texas; daughter, Stephanie Linahan and husband, David of Princeton, Texas and their mother, Anne Schumpert of McKinney, Texas; wife, Martha Ramos of Miami, Florida; grandchildren, Madyson Taylor Ramos, Katherine Blankenship, Samantha Blankenship and Emily Linahan; brothers, Jose Ramos of Washingtonville, New York, Norman Ramos of Arecibo, Puerto Rico; several nieces, nephews and a host of other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and grandson, Nathan Douglas Blankenship. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 10, 2008, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel with Rev. Danny Buster officiating. Interment will follow with Military Honors at Ridgeview Memorial Park, Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Sunday evening beginning at 6:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, Allen, Texas.
