Ramon Medardo Infante, age 74, of Frisco, Texas peacefully passed away surrounded by his beloved family on November 8, 2022.
He was born on June 8, 1948, to Ana America and Ramon Guillermo Infante in Oriente, Cuba. His parents fearlessly fled the Castro dictatorship in Cuba, and on October 7th, 1962, Ramon and his family arrived in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Fred Edgar of Oak Lawn United Methodist Church sponsored the Infante family and provided a new home for them as they became United States citizens at 4111 Cedar Springs Road. Ramon served his country as a Medic in the United States Army in June 1968 to give back to the land where he and his family found freedom.
On June 4, 1977, Ramon married Patricia Gabel in Dallas, Texas. Ramon worked as a Loan Officer in the North Texas area. Here he took immense pride in helping others find the American dream that he was so freely offered. He was an avid sports fan (Go Cowboys!) and a regular requested personality on Sports Radio 1310 The Ticket.
Ramon was a family man in every sense of the word. Being the eldest of his siblings and the first to learn English as a second language, he was looked upon as the Infante patriarch. He helped members of his immediate and extended families without falter. He had a deep love for his wife and children and led by example. He showed that a true man has both successes and faults but taught that you can always learn from them and rise to become greater. Ramon was also a friend to everyone, as he never met a stranger. His humor and quick wittedness kept people on their toes and sides hurting with laughter. To know him was to love him. He was truly a classic.
Ramon is survived by his wife of 45 years, Patty Infante; his three children, Ramon Antonio Infante, Tacy Rae Infante and her husband, Marcus Krause, Kenneth William Infante; his four grandchildren, Ericc Medardo Infante, Anthony Infante, Brynnley Elaine Krause, Collyns Elise Infante; his four siblings, Juan Infante and his wife, Nancy, Frank Infante, Grisel Weber, Ana Infante; as well as a large extended family of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
Ramon was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Finnleigh Grace Infante and his parents, Ana and Ramon Infante.
