A loving father, husband and faithful friend, Ralph William Coon began his new life with the Lord on September 23, 2023, following a brief illness. Ralph, affectionately known as Wil, Wilbur, Willard and his favorite, “Coon Nugget”, was born in Guymon, Oklahoma on March 28, 1969, and later grew up in Amarillo, Texas. Wil graduated high school from Dunn School in Los Olivos, California and later earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from The University of Northern Colorado. Following in the family footsteps, Wil worked in many aspects of the cattle industry in the Texas Panhandle and North Texas. Wil married the love of his life, Shawna Campbell Coon, on September 23, 2000, and together they raised two amazing sons, Campbell William Coon, 19, and Spencer Day Coon, 17. Wil’s dedication to his sons was exemplary and truly his greatest joy and legacy. The relationship he had with his children and family was enhanced by his family’s faith, his humor, and their dedication to each other and the community. Wil was a faithful friend to many and volunteered his time endlessly.
Wil will be missed beyond measure by his wife, Shawna, sons, Campbell and Spencer, mother, Linda Elliot, sister, Shannon Nini, brother, Brent Coon, the entire Gardiner and Campbell families of Celina, and many more extended family members and cherished friends. Wil would want us all to keep loving one another and continue sharing the humor that we could always count on from him.
Please join the family for a Memorial Service on September 27, 5:00 p.m. at the Turrentine Jackson Morrow Funeral Home, located at 2525 Central Expressway North, in Allen, Texas 75013.
