Ralph Jerome "Jerry" Dougan

Ralph Jerome “Jerry” Dougan, age 79 passed away March 9, 2015 in Plano, TX. He was born April 12, 1935 to Ralph Jerome and Lenora Kathryn (Long) Dougan, in Kansas City, MO. Jerry was a retired Chief Petty Officer in the United States Navy before retiring. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Plano, TX. Jerry grew up in Kansas City, Mo and graduated from Central High School. After his retirement from the U.S. Navy, Jerry worked the assistant manager of the world famous Del Coronado hotel in San Diego, CA. After a career ending stroke at the hotel, Jerry refused to give up and went on to earn his associates degree in criminology; he then became a “career” volunteer for the Chula Vista, CA police department. He was commended multiple times for being the Volunteer of the Year for the city of Chula Vista, CA. His dedication to his country and community is without question. After his wife, Theresa, died on his birthday in 2011, Jerry moved to TX to be closer to family.

He is survived by his children Michael Patrick Dougan of Olds, Alberta Canada; Colleen Marie Dougan, of Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada; Steven Phillip Dougan, of Olds, Alberta Canada; Jeffrey Paul Dougan of Winnipeg, Manitoba Canada; three surviving siblings, Elizabeth Ann (Dougan) Holmes, of San Antonio, TX; Joseph Patrick Dougan, of Plano, TX; Aurelia Kathryn (Dougan) McCollom, of Kansas City, MO.

Jerry was preceded in death by his first wife Patricia Claire McMahon and his second wife Theresa Amelia (Repetti) Dougan.

A funeral mass will be held Thursday, March 19, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Plano, TX. Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery in Dallas, Texas.
