IN LOVING MEMORY

Ralph C. Alexander

Mar 01 1920 - Jul 10 2011

Ralph C. Alexander McKinney, Texas passed away at the Medical Center of McKinney on July 10, 2011. Born in Tyler on March 1, 1920, he was 91 years old. He was raised in Dallas and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1939. Ralph was married to Eva Ellen Berry of McKinney in 1942. They were married for 38 years when she passed away in 1980. He is survived by two sons, Mitchell (Mickie) of McKinney and David of Columbia, Maryland, his wife Betsy, and grandsons Colin of Brooklyn, New York, and Jeremy of Atlanta, Georgia. After the death of Eva Ellen, he had a close companionship with the late Polly Watson of McKinney. He also leaves behind Tim and Karen Burnett (daughter of Polly Watson) and their children, Katy (and Tim Remington), Jordan, and Bryan who were a second family to him. Ralph was a dedicated employee who gave everything he had to his jobs. He worked at the John E. Mitchell Company in Dallas for 42 years, followed by Magnafab in Howe, and Metro Stone and OK Recycling in McKinney for an additional 20 years (until the age of 89 in 2008). He seemed ageless and was heard to say, “I’d go back to work today if I could find a job”. Ralph was a person with true grit. No matter what happened, he had a positive upbeat attitude and was always thinking of others. He said that his only regret in life was that he “didn’t have that one extra blueberry pancake.” Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 12, 2011, at 10:00 a.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel, in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Pecan Grove Cemetery in McKinney, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Monday evening, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home.
