Rachael Sahr, a devoted wife, will be remembered for her loving spirit and zest for life after her passing on Sunday, November 25, 2007. After a prolonged battle with cancer, Rachael joined her Savior as her family surrounded her and held her hands at her Sun Prairie, WI home. Rachael is survived by her husband Erik Lee Sahr of Sun Prairie and her immediate family of mother Deborah Monk and stepfather Paul Monk of Smithfield, Va., father George T. Heflin and stepmother Herlide F. Heflin of Allen, Texas, as well as sisters Amy (Will) Webber of Albuquerque, N.M., Julie (Carter) Livingston of Wylie, Texas., and Paula (John) Eschler of Sun Prairie, Yvette Holman of Plano, TX, and other relatives include her husband’s parents, Robert and Deb Sahr of Fargo, N.D., paternal grandmother Louise Lewis of Shreveport, La., and maternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Barnett Cloud, Sr., of Stonewall, La. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Rachael is preceded in death by her grandfather Don Heflin, her uncles Bruce and Mark Heflin, grandparents Angie and Pete Monk, and grandmother Willie Lee Lollis. Just 36 at the time of her death, Rachael was born March 29, 1971 in Corpus Christi, Texas and graduated from Clovis (N.M.) High School in 1990. She is a proud honors graduate of the University of Texas at Dallas and was employed as the finance director at Sun Prairie Water and Light at the time of her passing. Although her roots are in Texas, Rachael’s life was firmly entrenched in Sun Prairie after she relocated from the Dallas Metroplex in 2004. Above all else she loved her dear husband. She also enjoyed cooking, traveling, and playing with her twin fox terriers, Eddie and Alex. Rachael was a loyal Dallas Cowboys fan. A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2007 at 5:30 p.m. at the Cress Funeral Home Chapel, 1310 Emerald Terrace, Sun Prairie, WI, with Rev. Scott Carlson officiating and a funeral service will be held Saturday, December 1, 2007, at 2:00 pm, in the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel, Allen, Texas with the Rev. Steve McPherson officiating. Burial will be held at Ridgeview Memorial Park, Allen, Texas.
