IN LOVING MEMORY

Priscilla Frances Teague Rosson

Oct 16 1932 - Jan 17 2021

Priscilla Frances Teague Rosson, age 88, of Frisco, Texas, passed away January 17, 2021 surrounded by her family.  She is now residing very happily in Heaven. Priscilla was born October 16, 1932, in Kannapolis, North Carolina, to Arthur Bates and Fannie Belle (Reece) Teague.  She married Charles Rosson on November 15, 1952, in Kannapolis.

Priscilla was born to be a mother and she was a fabulously “classic” one. She was classic in the sense that she cooked full meals for the family daily, ironed everyone’s clothes, doted on her 4 children, kept a spotless house, all while being a Pastor’s wife and the love of her husband’s life.  Never a day went by in their nearly 65 years of marriage that they didn’t express their love and utter devotion to each other.

Before Priscilla had children of her own, she got lots of practice homemaking and “mothering” her younger siblings. As the oldest in her family, she had to step up at 7 years old to “mother” her 4 younger siblings due to their  mother’s chronic illness. She cooked for them, looked after them and even had to climb in the crib to change her baby sister’s diapers. But, Oh how she loved all of her siblings!

Priscilla grew up in Kannapolis, NC but upon marrying Charles, they lived many different places. In those days, it was common for Pastors to move every 2 years or so and as a result they moved a lot and Priscilla became a Pro at making each house a “home.”  She and Charles pastored churches in North Carolina, Ohio, Michigan, South Carolina and Georgia.  They also evangelized throughout the Appalachians and the southeastern part of the country.   Despite wherever Priscilla lived, she was and always will be a North Carolina girl at heart.

When Charles and Priscilla retired, they moved to Dallas, Texas to be near family. Priscilla was a precious grandmother who dearly loved and treasured her 5 grandchildren as well as her 4 children. If you spent anytime with her, you were most certainly going to be entertained with stories about her grandchildren. Priscilla’s grandchildren adored her …she was “Mammaw” to them – a second mother of whom they were very protective.

In spite of her last number of years being marked by Alzheimer’s, she never lost her sweet spirit or her dignity.

She is survived by her children, Dan Rosson and wife, Karen of Woodstock, Georgia, David Rosson and wife, Jackie of Corsicana, Texas, Andrea Brown and husband, Tim of Frisco, Texas, and Amy Dove and husband, Jeff of Savannah, Georgia; grandchildren, Chris Rosson and wife, Sarah, Jonathan Rosson, Andrew Brown, Luke Brown, and Gracie Brown; great-grandchildren, Michayla Rosson, Hannah Rosson, and Caden Rosson; sister, Jilda Raffaldt of Kannapolis, North Carolina; sister-in-law, Rebecca Williams (Bill) of Cleveland, Tennessee; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Rudy Teague, and sisters, Sultana Harris and Peggy Bowman.

The family would like to thank Jason Smith, David Wilcox and all the loving caregivers at Beehive Homes in Frisco, Texas. A special thanks to Sunny Bryson, mom’s hospice nurse, whose kindness meant so much to us all.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Kannapolis, North Carolina.

Flowers may be sent to the family or memorial donations may be made to NantzFriends, a leader in Alzheimer’s research at nantzfriends.org
