IN LOVING MEMORY

Phyllis Ann Gravley Huffmaster

Apr 28 1931 - Feb 25 2021

Phyllis Huffmaster, 89, went into the loving arms of her Savior Jesus Christ on February 25, 2021, while comforted by family and staff at Anthology of Stonebridge Ranch in McKinney, Texas where she had been a resident since January 2015.  Her battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed her courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Despite the obstacles, she stayed strong until the end.

Phyllis Ann Webb was born April 28, 1931 in Wichita Falls, the only daughter of John L and Hazel Webb Sr.  She attended Wichita Falls schools and upon graduating attended Midwestern State where she met the love of her life, Bill Gravley.  Following their marriage, they eventually moved to Duncan, Oklahoma where Bill opened Transit Perforators, Inc.  It was there the decision was made to plant stakes and raise their family.  Outside of being a homemaker, Phyllis’ caring and compassions were shared through volunteering. Christian faith was an important part of her life. The strength of her faith was honed within the walls of First Baptist Church Duncan where she served as a Sunday School teacher, taught VBS, and filling in wherever she could within the youth ministry.  She was an active member of the community serving on the fundraising committee of the Duncan Civic Capers, a member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood, and later served as president of the Falconhead Condo Association.

Upon Bill’s passing she moved to Plano, Texas where years later she met and married Bill Huffmaster.  Residing in Ft Worth she became an active member of Pantego Bible Church where she served within the children’s ministry.

Phyllis will be lovingly remembered by family and friends for her faithful trust in the Lord, her quiet gentle nature, her sweet smile, and her devotion to family.  She was a force of nature with a heart larger than life. She embodied a sense of style and class that couldn’t be matched and found great beauty in gardening. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Phyllis. She loved playing Bridge, watching her Dallas and OSU Cowboys, and always tuned in to watch her favorite PGA player Jordan Speith.  An avid reader she consumed nearly any book she could get her hands on.  She had a passionate love affair with all things sweet, anything dipped in chocolate, and strawberry shakes.  Her special joy was family.

Phylis is survived by daughter, Karen Gravley of Plano, Texas; son, Kent Gravley and wife, Jan of Aberdeen, Washington; step-son, Bill (Bo) Huffmaster and wife, Gloria of Ft.
