Phyllis Susan Opat, age 80, of Frisco, Texas passed away on December 13, 2016 in Plano, Texas. She was born on January 22, 1936 in Passaic, New Jersey to Rose Grosiak and Stanley Chudzik. On September 12, 1970, Phyllis married Edward Opat in Clifton, New Jersey. You could always find Phyllis spending most of her time playing bridge, traveling, or with her grandchildren. She was a parishioner at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Frisco.
Phyllis is survived by her husband, Ed Opat of Frisco; daughter, Andrea Gowans and her husband, Robert; son, Christopher Opat and his wife, Meredith; five grandchildren, Hugh, Lauren, Leo, Isabel and Gabriel; brother, Joseph Chudzik.
Phyllis is preceded in death by her parents, Rose and Stanley Chudzik, and her grandson, Jed.
A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 8000 Eldorado Parkway, Frisco, Texas 75033, on Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at 11:00 AM with Father Larry Pichard presiding. Inurnment will follow at Ridgeview West Memorial Park in Frisco.
