Philip Lee Denton, age 66, of McKinney, Texas, passed away May 28, 2013, in McKinney. Philip was born July 26, 1946, in Cordell, Oklahoma, to Don Alvin and Patty (Moore) Denton. He married Margaret McElreath on September 25, 1976, in Sherman, Texas. Philip grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and graduated from Nathan Hale High School in 1964. He graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1969 and was a member of the Kappa Alpha fraternity. Philip worked for forty-four years in the Telecommunications field. He was known as Paw Paw to his grandchildren and loved boating on the lake where he was known as Captain Phil.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Denton of McKinney, Texas; son, Craig Denton and wife, Shannon of Plano, Texas; daughter, Dina Bruckner and husband, Brad of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, LeAnna, Gavin, Zoe, Jake, and Blythe; mother, Patty Denton of Arlington, Texas; sister, Susan Dost of Arlington, Texas; and niece, Mallory Dost, of Norman, Oklahoma.
He was preceded in death by his father, Don Denton.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, May 31, 2013, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Allen, Texas. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen.
