Petra Garcia Garza of McKinney, Texas passed away on January 1, 2021 at the age of 82. She was born on May 16, 1938 to Conrado and Rosalinda (Garcia) Herrera in Vinateria Ranch, Texas. Petra married Inocencio Garza on November 4, 1957 in Vernon, Texas. They moved following Inocencio’s work finally settling in North Texas. She devoted her life to raising her children. Her favorite thing to do was go shopping.
Petra is survived by her children, John I Garza and wife Martha, Maria V. Garcia and husband, John, Aravelia Garza and husband, Lionel, Tommy Garza and wife Sandy, Felix Garza and wife Robin, Daniel Garza, Abelardo Garza and wife, Ruby; 21 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren, 2 great- great grandchildren; sibling, Armando Herrera, Maria Herrera, Margarita Garcia, Angelita Benavidez, Conrado Herrera, Jose Garcia, Dominga Garcia, Estella Bueno, Candy Garcia, half-sister, Isabella Herrera; significant other Eziquiel Hernandez; and numerous other loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Inocencio Garza; parents; siblings, Ernestina Garcia, Conrdita Herrera, Mannel Herrera, Felix Herrera, and David Herrera; and half – sister, Juanita Herrera.
A “come and go” visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2021, from 7:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home. Only a limited number of guests will be allowed to enter the funeral home facility at any one time to maintain social distancing.
In support of our local, state, and federal govt including CDC directives and to protect the physical health, safety and well-being of our community, only a limited number of guests will be allowed to attend the Funeral Service.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 6, 2020, at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas. The service will also be live streamed at TJMfuneral.com on Petra’s obituary page by clicking on the following link: https://celebrationoflife.tv/blog/petra-garcia-garza. After the service, the recorded live stream will be available for viewing at the same link location.
However, when the maximum number of guests are reached, those who would like to honor Petra and show their support to her family may remain at the funeral home in your vehicle, where you can watch the live streamed service on your personal device (laptop, tablet or smartphone) or listen through a designated FM radio channel.
Interment will follow at Chambersville Cemetery in McKinney, Texas.
