Dear Barr Family: We just returned from vacation and found out about Peter. I continued to pray for your family while we were gone (not knowing what was happening), but the Lord knew so I asked for Him to minister in which ever way He knew it was needed. May the Lord be with each of you as you remember Peter. In Christ, Shel Green Bay, WI Shel Roddan, March 16, 2008 Just a note to tell you we never meet in person. But you and your family I got to know through Caringbridge. You'll are an amazing family. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers. God bless, Lisa Lisa H Fiveash, March 15, 2008 My boys and I never had the pleasure of actually meeting Peter, however, Scott has kept us so connected through Caringbridge that we feel like we live next door! I wish I could put words together as well as Scott has for so long. I can just tell you that our hearts ache with yours and we continue to pray for strength for each of you as your family heals. Lots of love, cousin Colleen, Nick & Jason Colleen Cavanaugh, March 14, 2008 Dear Barr Family, It's Friday evening and we are sitting here in the comfort of our home in Maryland, thinking about Peter's funeral service going on right now in Texas. This is all so sad & hard to fathom. You have all been in our thought for so long. Such a beautiful, precious family. I wish there was a magic formula to soothe your aching hearts. It was obvious to us that Peter had inherited his daddy's wonderful warped sense of humor, and I am sure all the Barr children are similarly afflicted. What few times I have shared with the Barr family were always so enjoyable due to that incredibly great humor. Whenever possible, try to laugh all you can and look for the fun in everything. God bless and be with you all. With love, Jane & Joel Leff Jane & Joel Leff, March 14, 2008 It is impossible to describe how I feel about Peter's death. As part of the DIPG Warriors he will be missed so very much. Yet, there is joy that is earthly journey has ended and he is free and whole once again. Perhaps as an angel he can send special blessings on those Warriors still on the journey. Joan Gillespie, March 14, 2008 I like many others have never met your sweet Peter but have followed his progress through my friend Cindy Fish. It is amazing to me to read all of the thoughts coming from those who never had the pleasure of knowing Peter personally. I hope you find a small measure of comfort knowing that there are hundreds of people out there who are thinking about and praying for the comfort of your family. I feel like I do know Peter. He has made an impression on my heart, he is truly an angel and I admire you as his parents. May God Truly hold you in his arms at this time in your life. Cherie Merkley, March 14, 2008 I learned about sweet Peter just yesterday though a friend of mine. Peter is truly a handsome young man and I have NO doubt that he made you very proud in the short time the Lord loaned him to your family. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with your entire family. I hope that you will always see Peter through your children's eyes, actions and hearts. The Morelands, March 14, 2008 I so happened to look at the Obituaries today and came across Peter's, and I was just so compelled to just send my condolences to your family. I do not know Peter or your family; however, the loss of a child is a great one. I have a 9 year old son and just cannot fathom the thought. My prayers are with you all and just know that God has got him close to his heart. May God bless you all - Jonille Alexander Ramsey, March 13, 2008 I hope you will accept my sincere condolences. I was always impressed with Peter’s ability to have fun and he made people smile, especially me. I loved seeing his photos with small animals and the funny ways they seemed to always be entertaining him. It was my pleasure to go fishing with him and he showed me what fun fishing can be to a young boy. I am proud and honored to have associated with him during his short sojourn here on Earth. He came to a great family who will always love him. He is a special spirit worthy of the greatest glory God can grant his children. Peter, May God bless you forever. Brad Minson, March 13, 2008 My son Joshua Snead went to Walker elementary with Peter, he was diagnosed with a tumor in his stomach the same week that peter was diagnosed. What an honor to get to know you if only by cyberspace on Caringbridge. Prayers to your family.... Etta Angel_Wings, March 12, 2008 Peter and my son Nicholas were in the same class in church, and in pre-school. I had the opportunity of teaching Peter music in Primary. He was always willing to learn, and always raised his hands to participate. My fondest memory, though, will be of the day of his baptism, and how, at the open house, he was able to chow down several drops of tabasco sauce, right from the bottle. He was having fun, and the smile on his face is what I will remember the most. Thanks Peter and Barr family for teaching me and my family so much with this journey. May you find the comfort you need right now in the words of this wonderful Primary song: "Families can be together forever, in Heavenly Father's plan..." Love and prayers, always. Polly From Angel Wings Remembers, March 12, 2008 I had Peter in my Kindergarten class at Reuben Johnson Elementary school several years ago. I wil always remember the cute way he talked and phrased words. For example, one day he came in with a red mark on his face. I asked him what happened. He looked up at me with those bright blue eyes and put his little hand up and said, "I got in a fight with a ladder, and the ladder won." Thank you for sharing him with me. Rhonda Martin, March 12, 2008 Both my boys went to Walker. That is how I became aware of Peter and his story. My prayers come from my heart and go out to all of Peter's family and friends. I wish I could do more. God bless. Jeanie Hodde, March 12, 2008
