Perry Miles Hamill

Perry Miles Hamill of Allen, Texas passed away September 29, 2022 at the age of 88.  He was born July 15, 1934 to Morris Franklin Hamill and Clara (Woodson) Hamill in Sturgis, Mississippi.  Perry grew up working on his family’s farm and graduated from high school in Sturgis.  He continued his education earning his bachelor’s degree in business administration from Mississippi State University in Starkville, Mississippi.  After College, Perry served his country proudly in the United States Army.  He married the late Bobbye Ann Arnold on November 27, 1959 and they enjoyed 51 years of marriage before her passing in 2010. Perry worked as the Manager of Customer Service for Dixico Incorporated/Bryce Corporation for 35 years until his retirement in 1996.  He enjoyed all things associated with being a MSU Bulldog.  He spent years traveling the South with family and friends attending MSU games. He was active in the Dallas Chapter of the MSU Alumni.  One of his favorite hobby’s was watching SEC college football.  Perry was also a season ticket holder for the Plano Senior High School Wildcats for many years.  He enjoyed biking, running, working out, and strived for good health. Perry enjoyed gardening and working in his yard.  He received “yard of the month” often.  He liked cooking and canning. Perry and Bobbye loved taking cruises and took the entire family with them several times.  He enjoyed Big Bend National Park in West Texas and he and Bobbye traveled there annually.  They loved taking road trips all over the US. He embraced the holidays because it gave him and Bobbye opportunities to host family and friends.  Perry most enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. Perry was a devout Christian who devoted his time and was very generous to his church and various charities. 

He is survived by his daughters, D’Ann Hamill and Kim Rudd of Allen, Texas and Judy Hamill of Frisco, Texas; grandchildren, Chris Belosic and Alexandra of Oakland, California, Jericha Engen and Brad of Frisco, Texas; great-grandchildren, Brayden, Jocelyn, and Braxton Engen and Weston Belosic; and a host of loving family and friends.

Perry was preceded in death by his wife; Bobbye Hamill, his parents; Morris and Clara Hamill, his three brothers; Bertron, James, and Sammy, and two sisters Celia Kinard and Mary Ellen Fulgham.

Perry’s family would like to thank all the Caregivers at Vitality Court Texas Star Assisted Living and Memory Care for their love, care, and kindness while taking care of Perry over the years.  He was always treated like a rockstar!

A private inurnment will be held at Christ United Methodist Church in Plano, Texas.

Perry will be missed dearly by those who knew and loved him.
