Perry Norman Bolin of Plano, Texas, passed away peacefully on July 16, 2025, at the age of 83.
He was born on January 1, 1942, to William Perry Bolin and Edna (Leach) Bolin in Allen, Texas. Perry grew up in McKinney, where he graduated from McKinney High School and served as president of his Junior and Senior class.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in 1964 from Baylor University. Following college, he served with honor in the United States Air Force Reserves. In his career, he worked alongside his father and brother at their family owned and operated business, Bolin Oil Company and continued the family legacy, proudly carrying on the work his parents began. He was a member of the Texas Oil Marketers Association where he served as president in 1981.
On June 29, 1968, he married the love of his life, Patsy Rivers, at Wilshire Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas—a partnership that became a cornerstone of his life. Perry and Patsy enjoyed a life full of travel, love, and the joy of raising their cherished daughter, Tara. He made many memories with friends and family over the years while hunting and enjoying the outdoors at their family ranches in Mason and Ft. McKavett, Texas. His greatest joy was the time he spent with his three grandsons, never missing a chance to share in their every adventure.
A devoted man of faith, Perry was a long-standing member of Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano and a former member of First Baptist Dallas. He joyfully served in the choir at both churches, using his voice to share his love for the Lord. He was dedicated to serving his community and gave generously of his time through serving on various boards including Legacy Bank, Plano Medical Center, Collin County Prayer Breakfast, Southwestern Seminary, The Southern Baptist Convention of Texas and as the Commissioner of Plano Planning and Zoning.
He will be fondly remembered and deeply missed.
