A Celebration of Life Funeral Service for Peggy Ann (Adamson) Simmons, 76 year old Bailey resident, is scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Saturday September 8, 2018 at the Valley Creek Baptist Church near Leonard. Brother David Hawkins and Brother James Seigler will officiate. The family will also welcome family and friends for visitation on Friday, September 7, 2018 at the Valley Creek Baptist Church from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. Burial will be in the Arledge Ridge Cemetery near Bonham.

Peggy was born to M.D. and Lois Adamson on December 14, 1941 in Lamasco, Texas. Peggy married Glen Edward Simmons of Bailey December 24, 1959. They were married for 58 years and they lived in Bailey, Azle, Anna, Leonard and back to Bailey. They had three children. Peggy worked as a housewife, sewing for the public, baby sitting, then worked for the Texas Department of Transportation for 24 years and retired in 2004. She loved spending time with her family, working at her church, crocheting, traveling, camping and attending Southern Gospel Concerts. She loved the people of the Valley Creek Baptist Church and serving the Lord there for over 25 years. She passed away Sunday September 2, 2018 at the Medical City Hospital of Dallas surrounded by her loving family.

Peggy is survived by her husband, Glen Simmons; her three children and their spouses: Lesa and Rick Branstetter of Bolivar, Missouri, Dianna and Bill Olsen of Bailey and Eddie and Christy Simmons of Leonard; her 8 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; her siblings and their spouses: Neal and Denise Adamson of Montgomery, Texas, Connie and Paul Galloway of Celina, Texas and Shirley and Ray Daugherty of Tool, Texas. She is also survived by lots of nieces and nephews, as well as by a host of friends that she loved dearly.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, M.D. and Lois Adamson.
