IN LOVING MEMORY

Peg Sand

Oct 14 1947 - Nov 27 2022

Margaret “Peg” Sand of Allen, Texas passed away on November 27, 2022 at the age of 75. She was born on October 14, 1947 to Roscoe and Margaret (Signall) Ivey in Carroll, Iowa.

After graduating high school, Peg pursued a career in nursing and received her LPN.  Peg worked at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and nursing homes and assisted living centers in Madison, Wisconsin.  She loved being a nurse and taking care of people. After moving to Texas in the early 1970’s, Peg became a homemaker.

Peg was an avid gardener and incredible home cook and baker.  She enjoyed volunteering for the PTA and celebrating all the holidays by decorating the house.

She never missed a school function or sporting event for her children and grandchildren.  Peg’s greatest joy was being a grandmother.  She absolutely loved her grandchildren and spoiled them every chance she had with their favorite meals (meatloaf, grilled cheese sandwiches, and chicken parmigiana) and loads of home-made cookies.  Peg always ensured everyone had plenty to eat at each family gatherings and always had an assortment of treats in the freezer that could be served at a moment’s notice.

Peg is survived by her husband, Ronald “Ron” Sand of Allen, Texas; children, Jennifer Schuder and husband, Kurt of Dallas, Texas, Kelly Sand of Dallas, Texas, and Lindsey Oldham and husband, Brodie of McKinney, Texas; grandchildren, Deacon Oldham, Bryer Oldham, and Ryder Oldham; and numerous other loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and grandmother, Louisa Nichols.

The family will receive friends during a visitation on Sunday, December 4, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas.
