Paulina Mildred (Crum) Gatewood of Plano, Texas passed away June 10, 2017 at the age of 94 at the Dayspring Assisted Living facility in Plano, Texas. She was born October 25, 1922 to Andrew Jackson and Grace (Black) Crum in Humphrey, Arkansas. Paulina graduated from Humphrey High School and attended Arkansas Tech in Russellville, Arkansas where she received her associate’s degree.  After graduating from Arkansas Tech, she matriculated to the University of Arkansas for 2 years where she met Vernon Gatewood, her husband of many years and together they had six sons. Paulina and her husband lived in various cities in Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas before moving to the Dallas, Texas area where they lived in Plano, Texas for many years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother and she will be missed by her family and friends.

Paulina is survived by sons, Walter Andrew Gatewood and wife, Beverly Ann of Plano, Texas and Michael Randolph Gatewood and wife, Linda Sue Carson of Franktown, Colorado; grandchildren, Terri Lynn Gatewood Carney and husband, Alan of The Colony, Texas, Michael Lee Gatewood and wife, Erin of Portland, Oregon and Stephanie Michelle Lawson and husband, Cassell Wyatt Lawson of Erie, Colorado; great-grandchildren, Courtney Paige Gibson and Hailey Nichole Gibson of The Colony, Texas, Cole Michael Lawson, Lola Anne Lawson, Oswen Eiler Lawson and Tayo Eiler Lawson all of Erie, Colorado, William Stephen Carson and Matthew Frank Carson of Santa Rosa, California; niece, Paulina (Paula) Craig Reaves Bryant; nephews, Robert W. Craig, James Mason Craig and John Lester Craig.

She was preceded in death by her parents, A.J. and Grace Crum; husband, Vernon Gatewood; four sons, Vernon Lee Gatewood, Ronald Paul Gatewood, Fred Jackson Gatewood and Carl Edward Gatewood; sister, Edith Crum Craig and husband, Mason W. Craig; and nephew, Thomas Andrew Craig.

A small family graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Sparkman Hillcrest Memorial Park, 7405 W. Northwest Highway, Dallas, Texas 75225. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Friday evening from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013.
