Paula Ann (Vandervort) Ingendorf of McKinney, Texas passed away on April 24, 2018 at the age of 85. She was born to Paul and Vertie (Hurst) Vandervort in Madill, Oklahoma. Paula met James Robert “JR” Ingendorf at Harlingen High School where he was a football player and Paula was the pretty new girl in town. Paula married JR on June 17, 1951 in Harlingen, Texas. She spent almost 50 years in South Texas where she worked for a while at several banks, was an active Sunday School Teacher at the First Baptist Church, but most importantly where she raised two children and created a loving family home along with JR. While in Corpus and Harlingen, Paula & JR enjoyed time with their friends and loved going down to the coast to pick up some shrimp or just fish. Paula and JR relocated to North Texas in 2001. Once introduced to the computer, she enjoyed playing games on the internet and emailing friends. Paula’s focus remained her family and giving them her love and attention.
She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, JR. Ingendorf of McKinney, Texas; son, Jim Ingendorf and wife, Leslie of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Paul Ingendorf and wife, Jennifer of Plano, Texas, Lea Anne Ingendorf of Fort Worth, Texas and J.D. Ingendorf of Dallas, Texas; great-grandchildren, Nate Ingendorf and Chris Ingendorf of Plano, Texas; sister, Jana Roberts and husband, George of Austin, Texas; and many other loving family members and friends.
Paula was preceded in death by her parents; and her daughter, Debby Ingendorf.
A funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. Interment will follow at Ridgeview Memorial Park. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday, April 27, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
