Paul Louis Gleman was the oldest of four children, and only son, born to Matilda Finocchi and Paul Lincoln Gleman on July 21, 1929 in the Bronx, NY.
At just fourteen years old, Paul left school to help his mother care for his sisters when his father abandoned the family, fostering a lifelong sense of responsibility and nurturing for those he loved. He passed his GED and joined the Navy at seventeen setting out not just to see the world but also befriend the people and experience the cultures of the many countries he visited, an interest he sustained throughout his life. Determined to advance, he studied and worked hard, reaching the rank of Lieutenant before retiring. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Cal State Fullerton while working full-time, and as a Contract Administrator for Fluor Corporation continued to travel the world. Paul married twice, his first marriage ending in divorce, and was a caring, generous, and devoted father to his only child.
He is survived by his loving wife of 28 years, Irina, of McKinney, Texas, and his daughter, Elena Smith and her husband Neil of Coto de Caza, California. Sadly, his siblings all predeceased him, but he will be remembered with fondness and respect by all who knew his kindness and generosity.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon, Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen, Texas. Interment with Military Honors will be held at DFW National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.
