Paul Henry Vanderwal

Paul Henry Vanderwal of Allen, Texas passed away March 25, 2017, at the age of 84.  He was born January 1, 1933, to Frank Edward Vanderwal, Sr. and Adele Minnie (Schubert) Vanderwal. Paul was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri and graduated from Washington University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and became a registered Professional Engineer.  He married Charlotte Flora Rippelmeyer on December 23, 1954, in St. Louis. In 1954 to 1956, he served his country proudly in the United States Army as an instructor in the surface to air missile command at Fort Bliss.  Paul was a sportsman and loved fishing and hunting. As an engineer, he was a great problem solver and always enjoyed a challenge. Paul was a devoted husband and was a proud father of his two daughters.  

He is survived by his daughters, Linda Vetter and husband Paul of Allen, Texas and Sharon Garcia and husband Corey of Spring, Texas; grandchildren, Shelley Vensel and husband Jeremiah of Wylie, Texas, Angela Wolfe and husband Andy of Mission Viejo, California, Jennifer Yeldezian and husband, Greg of Houston, Texas, Michelle Merkel and husband Dustin of Austin, Texas, Kendyl Bissey of Austin, Texas; brother, Frank E. Vanderwal and wife Mary of St. Louis; and a host of loving family and friends.

Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Vanderwal and parents, Frank and Adele Vanderwal.

A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Monday, March 27, 2017 at Ridgeview Memorial Park in Allen, Texas. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Monday from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home in Allen.
