Paul Ellis Bowen, 96, born in Prescott Arkansas, passed away on September 2, 2026 surrounded by family and friends in Branch/Princeton Texas. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was born June 15, 1930 to Floyd and Vera Bowen.
Paul Bowen served in the Army for 20 years. He then went on to work in the military division at Texas Instruments for 17 years. Paul retired at 58 and helped create the Branch Volunteer Fire Department along with his wife. He was a Fireman and assisted and organized fund raisers. He served in the Fire Department for 35 years. He also enjoyed collecting antiques, planting a garden and fixing anything broken.
Paul is survived by his loving wife of 73 years, Shirley Murrel Bowen; children, Sandra Kay Bowen, Paul David Bowen and Kathryn Jayne Bowen; grandchildren, Amy Renee Carranza and Bruce Paul Hunter; great grandchild, Macy Hunter; and sister, Mary Turlington from Virginia.
He was preceded in death by his brothers, Gene Bowen and Carlton Bowen.
A visitation will be held on September 8, 2026 at 1:00 p.m., with funeral services at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Branch/Your Community Church. A burial service with military honors will follow at Wilson Chapel Cemetery in Lowry Crossing.
