Patsy Ann Bates of Allen, Texas formerly of Howe, Texas passed away May 28, 2019 at the age of 83. She was born on February 9, 1936 to Ben Criswell Philips and Gussie Roberta (McWhirter) Philips in Weston, Texas. Pat married Larry C. Bates on May 22, 1965 in McKinney, Texas. She worked as a sales consultant for many years in home furnishings at Johnson Furniture Company and Howell’s Home Furnishings in McKinney. Pat was a devoted member of the First United Methodist Church in Howe, Texas.
She is survived by her son, Brad Bates of McKinney, Texas; granddaughters, Emily Bates and Kendall Bates, both of College Station, Texas; sister, Stephanie Talbot and husband, Bob of Duncanville, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Larry C. Bates; parents, Ben and Gussie Philips; sister, Sandra Anderson; and brother, Monty Philips.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. A memorial graveside inurnment service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday, June 7, 2019 at Dallas Fort Worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211.
