IN LOVING MEMORY

Patsy Jo Dillard

Apr 17 1939 - May 23 2024

Patsy Jo Dillard of Savoy, Texas passed away on May 23, 2024 at the age of 85. She was born to George and Nettie (Morton) Wilcox on April 17, 1939 in McKinney, Texas.

Pat graduated from Allen High School in 1957. During her professional career she worked for Texas Instruments where she fell in love with Joe Frank Dillard. After leaving TI she started working for Plano Sports Center where she flourished in the “World of Sports”.

Pat’s son, Kevin, started showing cattle while in the Allen FFA. He chose a Brahman heifer as his show project and Patsy was hooked. When Kevin went off to college, Patsy continued to support, raise and show his Brahman cattle.

During the next 30+ years, Patsy Dillard would become well known in the cattle barns of Texas, both as a Tx Jr Brahman Assoc Advisor and as an exhibitor.

Within the Allen ISD community, Patsy was a major sponsor for both the Allen FFA and the Legendary Allen Eagle Escadrille. She served on the Allen ISD School Board from 1975-1984. In 2001 the Allen ISD dedicated a new facility, geared to helping ‘at risk’ students, the Pat Dillard Special Achievement Center which is now housed in the original High School building.

She and her husband moved to Savoy in 2001 where she lived next door to her son and grandchildren. Patsy continued to raise cattle and support her grandkids in their show career.

Virginia Point United Methodist Church became her church family.

Pat is survived by her son, Kevin Dillard and wife, Kimberly of Savoy, Texas; grandson, Joseph Dillard, Sr. and wife, Jenny of Kaufman, Texas; granddaughter, Traci Broom and husband, Colton of Whitesboro, Texas; great granddaughter, Avery Dillard; great grandson, Joey Dillard, Jr.; great granddaughter, Carter Broom; great granddaughter, Callahan Broom; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Joe Frank Dillard; sister, Oneta Abbott; and brother, Troy Wilcox.
