Patsy Jean Hagar

Patsy Jean Hagar of McKinney, Texas passed away March 2, 2025 at the age of 92. She was born to Herschel and Maurine (Sims) Rose on February 14, 1933 in Commerce, Texas.

Patsy was a graduate of North Dallas High School in Dallas.  She taught Sunday School and sang in the Choir at the Casa View Church of the Nazarene in Dallas as well as the Euclid Avenue Baptist Church in Bristol, Virginia.  Patsy and James moved to McKinney, Texas in 2010 and were members at First Baptist McKinney.  While a resident at Stonefield Assisted Living in McKinney she was ministered to by Heritage Church in McKinney.

Patsy is survived by her son, James Hagar, Jr. and wife, Susan; grandchildren, James R. Hagar, Lori Hagar, Daniel Hagar, and Megan Finley; and eight great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, James Hagar; father, Herschel Rose; mother, Maurine Pickens; stepfather, Joe Pickens; and brothers, Glen Rose and Kenneth Rose.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Heritage Church, 4045 W. Eldorado Pkwy., McKinney, Texas 75070. Following the service, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park for a committal service, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. 

The family will receive guests during a visitation from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Friday, March 7, 2025 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. 

Memorial donations may be made in Patsy’s name to Heritage Church 4045 W. Eldorado Pkwy. 

The family wishes to express our appreciation to the caregivers at Stonefield Assisted Living and Legacy at Willow Bend for her excellent care as well as Legacy at Home Hospice for providing comfort to her.
