Patricia Pluskota Dyer, a resident of McKinney, Texas, passed away on December 2, 2023. She was born on May 14, 1945, in Huntington, West Virginia, to parents, John Dyer and Mildred (Petry) Dyer. Pat always wanted to live in a big city and chased her dreams by moving to Chicago at 21 years of age.
There she started her family and met life-long friends in Elmhurst and Carol Stream. In 1995, she moved to Texas to be with her children and began working at Concentra Medical Center in Plano, Texas, where she worked until her retirement. Pat never met a stranger and her work invited many special people into her life.
Pat’s true joy came from being surrounded by her beloved family. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones. In her leisure time, she enjoyed watching mystery and police television shows and listening to Gospel music and oldies. Pat grew up singing and playing piano in the Church of God in Huntington, West Virginia. Her time in church was the bedrock of her relationship with Jesus. Her faith was a guiding light throughout her life. Every obstacle she encountered and every rough patch of life was met with her unwavering positivity and optimism. She truly was able to see the silver lining in every challenge. Pat always felt blessed and it was impossible not to feel happier and more hopeful in her presence.
Patricia Pluskota Dyer will forever be remembered for her kind heart, her unwavering faith, and her devotion to her family. She will be deeply missed and forever held dear in the hearts of all who loved her.
She is survived by her three children, Theresa Harris and husband, Jon of McKinney, Texas, John Pluskota and wife, Michelle of Alpharetta, Georgia, Laura Parker and husband, Bill of Allen, Texas; six grandchildren, Joshua Gunter, Sam Gunter, Claire Pluskota, Elle Pluskota, Will Parker, and Alyssa Hering; as well as many other relatives and friends.
Pat was preceded in death by her parents, Mildred and John Dyer and brother, Johnny Dyer.
The family will receive friends for a visitation on Monday, December 11, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. with a funeral service following at 10:00 a.m., at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel, 2525 Central Expressway North, Allen, Texas 75013. Following the service, a procession will make its way to Ridgeview Memorial Park for a committal service.
