Patricia Mullins Haggarty, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, passed away peacefully on October 23, 2026, at the age of 81, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on April 11, 1945, in Shelbyville, Tennessee, to Willie B. and Velma Mullins, Patricia earned her degree in Early Childhood Education from Middle Tennessee State University. Teaching was her passion, and she devoted more than 30 years of her life to educating young children.
Patricia married the love of her life, John Philip Haggarty, on June 24, 1967. Their 50 years of marriage were filled with love and devotion until his passing in 2018. Together, John and Patricia lived in several different places before ultimately settling in McKinney, Texas, in 2010 to be closer to her children and grandchildren, who were the center of her world.
Patricia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, John; her parents, Willie B. and Velma Mullins; and her brother, Max Mullins.
She leaves behind her daughters, Andrea D. Garner and her husband, Danny, of Greenville, Texas, and Kimberly H. Joest and her husband, Bobby, of Allen, Texas; five grandchildren, Morgan, Payton, and Joshua McCrory, and Kylie and Philip Joest; and her great-grandson, Maddox McCrory, with a great-granddaughter expected in December. She is also survived by her sister, Carolyn Mullins Hix, and her husband, Frank; her niece, Donnetta H. McDaniel, and her husband, Scott; and her nephew, George Franklin Hix.
Patricia will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family and the lasting impact she made on the lives of those she loved. Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing that her suffering has ended and she is at peace, reunited in heaven with her beloved husband and resting in the presence of her Heavenly Father.
This is not goodbye, but until we meet again.
