Patricia Lucille Potter

Patricia Lucille (Hewitt) Potter of McKinney, Texas passed away on June 4, 2016 at the age of 81.  She was born on December 14, 1934 to Halbert Beard and Ollie Oleva (Work) Hewitt in Spokane, Washington.  Patricia married James Gerald Potter on February 22, 1958 in the Eisenhower Chapel at Ft. Lewis Air Force Base in Colorado Springs, Colorado. 

A longtime resident of Nacogdoches, she was a registered nurse at the Memorial Hospital where she cared for families from birth through illness and deaths.  Patricia was a longtime member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Nacogdoches Chapter #428 and was a Past Matron of the Swift Chapter #1138. She was of the Baptist faith and loved to sing in the choir at Calvary Baptist Church and to study and socialize with the Renewal Sunday School class.

Patricia is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, James Potter of Bonham, Texas where he resides at the Clyde Cosper Veterans Home; daughters, Pamela Dotson and husband Dennis of McKinney, Texas, Sheryl Daniel and husband Mike of Marble Falls, Texas; son, James (Jay) Potter and wife Julee of Livingston, Texas; grandchildren, Samuel (Sam) Baskin and wife Amelia, Casey Hitt and wife Allison, Travis Hitt, Quinten Daniel, Justin, Jordan, Jayson and Jaxson Potter; great-grandson, Jax Baskin; brother, Richard (Dick) Hewitt and wife Carol of Northglenn, Colorado; and many other loving family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Eva Delores Hewitt Schebor; and granddaughter, Michelle Nicole Daniel.

A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Home Chapel in Allen, Texas.  Interment will follow at DFW National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Parkway, Dallas, Texas 75211. The family will receive friends during a visitation on Wednesday evening, June 8, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
